Five Fingers cut off Dream
The governor of Alexandria deeply loved his five children, who were all steadfast in their religious commitment. One night, he had a dream in which he saw his five fingers being cut off. He woke up extremely disturbed and shared the dream with his children. Concerned, they immediately called a dream interpreter, Sheikh Yusuf Al-Karbouni, to interpret it.
After hearing the dream, Sheikh Yusuf, may God bless his soul, smiled and said, “It is not as you fear, but if I tell you the meaning of your dream, you must give me a good reward.” The governor agreed. Sheikh Yusuf then asked, “Have you been negligent in your five daily prayers?” The governor admitted that he had. Sheikh Yusuf explained, “That is the meaning of your dream. Repent to God Almighty and remain steadfast in your religion.”
