The Father Who Hid His Money

A man hid his money in his house before setting out on a journey. While on his way back, he became ill. He owed money to some people and considered telling a friend where he had hidden his money to pay off his debts, but he hoped to recover and return home to handle it himself. Sadly, the man died during his travels.

His son later saw him in a dream and asked, “What did God do to you?” The father replied, “My situation depends on some debts that must be paid first. I hid money in a specific place. Please go and dig it up, pay my debts, and enjoy the rest.” The son, dismissing it as a fairy tale, shared the dream with a friend.

A few days later, the father appeared to him again in another dream, saying, “I told you about something that would help me and benefit you, but you failed to act!” Alarmed, the son woke up, and in a state of shock, went to the place his father had indicated. When he dug up the money, he paid his father’s debts and found he had inherited more than he expected.

The Dream of the Blindfolded Man

A dream interpreter once shared a dream he had: “I saw a man blindfolded with a blue cloth. I asked him, ‘Do you know what happened to my father?’ He replied, ‘Your father is dead.’ The man then led me to my father’s grave, where I felt an immense loss, hugging it, crying, and wailing. When I woke up, I told a friend, another dream interpreter, about the dream. He smiled and said, ‘Your father’s death in the dream signifies his long life, and your crying means relief from distress.’

I didn’t accept his interpretation, as I believed I understood the true meaning of mourning and wailing in dreams.

After some time, I visited my father. My friend proudly reminded me of his interpretation. Later, I traveled away from home. Upon returning, I passed by a graveyard and saw a woman standing at the gate, her eye bandaged with a blue cloth. I recognized her and asked for news. She said, ‘May God grant you a long life. Your father has passed away.’ She then took me to his grave, and I fell on it, crying and wailing, just as I had in my dream.

Thus, my friend’s interpretation didn’t hold, for it was not his to make.”
