Omar asked, “When you became a star in the dream, did you fight on the side of the sun or the moon?” The man replied, “I fought on the side of the moon.”

The Moon Entering the Planet Taurus – A Woman’s Dream about Imam Ibn Sirin

Once, while Ibn Sirin (RA) was having his lunch, a lady came to him and said she had seen a dream. When he asked her to share it, she replied, “Not until you’ve finished your meal.” After he had finished eating, she told him, “I saw the moon entering the planet Taurus, and a voice from behind me told me to go to Ibn Sirin and tell him my dream.” Upon hearing this, Ibn Sirin’s face turned pale, and he stood up holding his stomach. His sister asked, “What’s the matter with you? Why has your face turned pale?” He replied, “Why shouldn’t it, when this lady has brought me the news of my death in seven days?” Indeed, the Imam (RA) passed away on the seventh day after this dream. May Allah have mercy upon him.

The same thing is narrated in another way as well that one day, while Imam Ibn Sirin was having lunch, a woman came to him and said, “I saw a dream.” Ibn Sirin replied, “Would you let me eat first, or do you want me to stop and listen to your dream?” The woman said, “Eat first,” and sat waiting for him. After finishing his meal, Ibn Sirin asked, “Tell me your dream.” The woman said, “I saw the moon merging with Alcyone,” which is the brightest star in the constellation of Taurus. She continued, “A voice then told me, ‘Go to Ibn Sirin and tell him your dream.'”

Upon hearing this, Ibn Sirin suddenly became shaken and asked, “Tell me, how did you see it?” The woman repeated her dream, and Ibn Sirin’s face grew grim. His sister, who was sitting with him, asked, “What disturbed you, oh my brother?” He replied, “This woman is saying that I will die in seven days.” True to the prediction, Ibn Sirin passed away and was buried on the seventh day.
