- A flower or rose symbolizes a child or honest earnings.
- The Arabic word for rose, ward, can also signify the return of an absent person or the arrival of a letter.
- Some interpreters believe that a rose represents:
- A woman who departs.
- A child who passes away.
- A short-lived business venture.
- A fleeting moment of joy, as flowers wither quickly.
- Other scholars suggest that aromatic plants, whether few or many, symbolize worries and sorrow.
- In their view, flowers in a dream typically indicate crying, unless:
- The flowers are seen in their natural place and not touched—in which case, they may represent a new birth or something positive.
- The flowers are picked, and their trees wither, which suggests weeping and grief.
Incident – Shaikh Salim Bin Tsa and the Recitation of the Qur’an
Shaikh Salim Bin Tsa once visited Hamza Bin Al-Habib Al-Zayyat, a devoted memorizer and reciter of the Holy Qur’an, who sought only the pleasure of Allah. Upon arrival, he saw Hamza crying and rubbing his cheeks with dust. Shocked, Shaikh Salim asked:
“I seek God’s protection for you! Oh Hamza, why are you crying?”
Hamza replied:
“Last night, I had a dream that the Day of Resurrection had come. The reciters of the Qur’an were summoned to stand before Allah Almighty, and I was among them. Then, I heard a kind voice declare: ‘Only those who lived by the Qur’an may enter.’
“Overwhelmed, I began to step back. Suddenly, a voice called my name: ‘Where are you going, Oh Hamza Bin Al-Zayyat?’ I responded: ‘At Thy command, Oh caller to my Lord!’
“An angel then said to me: ‘Say: At Thy command, Oh my Lord, At Thy command.‘ So, I repeated what the angel instructed me to say.”
This dream emphasizes the importance of not just reciting the Qur’an but also living by its teachings, as true success lies in embodying its guidance.
